Caller reported a tan cougar crouched near the M Trail switchback at 6:14 a.m. Officers located a fifteen-pound orange tabby named Barnaby stalking a ground squirrel. The cat’s owner, reached by phone, confirmed Barnaby “thinks he’s an apex predator.” No citations issued. Barnaby resumed patrol of the perimeter.
