The former Bridger Animal Clinic at 1420 West Main Street has sold for $1.8 million to a Bozeman LLC registered last month. Dr. Helen Prather ran the practice there for 31 years before retiring in June. She said she wanted someone who would keep it a vet clinic. The new owners have other plans.

Paws & Reflect Collective opens in November with three membership levels. The “Trailhead” tier at $180 monthly includes unlimited wellness exams, nail trims, and access to the indoor agility course. The “Summit” tier at $320 adds dental cleanings and a quarterly “nutrition consultation” with a certified canine wellness coach. The “Yellowstone” tier at $500 includes everything plus priority scheduling and a bandana.

“We’re not a vet clinic,” said founder Tanner Whitfield, 34, who relocated from Bend, Oregon in 2021. “We’re a holistic lifestyle brand for the modern dog parent. Helen built something beautiful here. We’re just activating the space for a new generation.” Whitfield’s background is in brand strategy. His partner, Maya Chen, manages a boutique Pilates studio on South 19th.

The 4,200-square-foot building includes the original exam rooms, kennels, and a fenced yard. Plans call for a cold-plunge tub for “recovery days,” a treat bar with house-made bone broth, and a co-working nook for members who want to work beside their dogs. The yard will host “Yappy Hours” Thursdays at 4 p.m. with local IPA on tap for humans.

Dr. Prather still gets mail at the address. “I drove by yesterday,” she said. “They’re painting the exam rooms sage green. The kennel doors are coming out. I suppose that’s progress. I just hope someone’s still checking for heartworm.”

The collective is accepting founding members through September 15. A waitlist has already formed for the Yellowstone tier. The building last sold in 1993 for $210,000.
