The Bridger Foothills Firewise Committee hosts its third annual neighborhood gathering at the Cottonwood Draw Community Barn. Residents are invited to bring a side dish and their property maps for a guided walk-through with retired Forest Service fuels specialist Gary Holcomb, who will point out which juniper bushes are “ladder fuels” and which are “sentimental landscaping.” A representative from the County Rural Fire District will demonstrate proper chainsaw maintenance using a Stihl MS 271 they keep in the back of a 2003 Suburban. Children welcome; leashed dogs discouraged due to the demonstration propane tank.
Contact Marnie at 406-555-0183 for the sign-up sheet. The barn doors open at 9:30 for coffee.
