The Friends of Hyalite host their annual trailhead ambassador training Saturday at the Middle Creek guard station. Volunteers will learn to greet the two or three hikers who arrive before noon, answer questions about the portable toilet situation, and gently suggest the M Trail instead. Coffee and store-bought muffins provided by the Forest Service partnership coordinator. No experience necessary, just a willingness to stand near a kiosk for four hours. The group hopes to recruit twelve ambassadors for a trail that sees twelve users on a busy weekend.
