It is currently November, and the sky is playing a cruel game of “Is It Or Isn’t It A Blizzard?” I personally own fourteen high-quality fleece jackets, all of which are currently gathering dust because the weather cannot decide if we are in a mild, breezy autumn or a sub-zero, soul-crushing tundra.

It is frankly disrespectful to the taxpayers that we have no municipal policy on when to officially deploy our heavy-duty winter gear. I saw a man on Main Street wearing shorts yesterday, while I was bundled in three layers of Polartec. This confusion causes significant social friction at the Co-op.

The city commission needs to set a firm date for the transition to permanent winter status. We deserve to know when it is socially acceptable to stop pretending that a light windbreaker is sufficient for a trip to the post office.

Nature is being very unprofessional lately.
