The annual arrival of the Montana State University volleyball team always signals the transition from the frantic chaos of summer tourism to the slightly different, albeit equally frantic, chaos of the academic year. As students file back into Bozeman, the Bobcats have initiated their preseason training with a rigorous focus on verticality and structural integrity.

This year, however, the coaching staff has decided to take their training drills into the field. Instead of relying solely on standard court sessions, the team has been spotted practicing their spikes against the wooden framing of the new mixed-use developments currently rising on Main Street.
