MSU women's soccer opens fall camp on new turf field

The Bobcats took the field at 7 a.m. Tuesday for the first session of fall camp, the new turf at Bobcat Soccer Complex still smelling faintly of rubber and possibility. Head coach Megan Holzer watched from the sideline with a clipboard and a thermos, the same way she has for twelve Augusts now.

Thirty-two players moved through passing drills in the cool morning air, the Bridgers catching first light behind the press box. A construction crane swung slowly over the adjacent lot where a five-story mixed-use building is rising, its future tenants promised “walkable access to campus amenities.”
